The historical records show that Islam has always been imperialistic, still is. The evil "crusader you stole our lands" mantra by Islamists have become rather tiresome. After 600+ years of Islamic aggression - the Islamic Crusades - I would ask, who were the Imperialists?

The fiercely Islamic Seljuk Crusaders slaughtered 3000 Christian pilgrams, and 16000 were enslaved at Edessa, and nearly 100,000 Greeks were sent to the Persian slave markets.

Alexius I Comnenus saw the writing on the wall in 1094, and the Crusades to the East were in every way defensive wars; attempts to turn back Muslim aggression and defend against Muslim conquests, the global Jihad... Emperor Alexius Comnenus eventually asks western Christendom for help against Seljuk invasions of his territory, and to his request, Pope Urban had this to say:

The Muslim Crusades started 4 centuries before the Christian Crusades. Contrasted with the ministry of Jesus, and the first generations of Christians, there is much to be disliked by those who performed any Crusade...War is an ugly thing...
