There are a couple of guys riding around the area here in a similar manner, they also have a car that looks very much like a LE vehicle, with a camera, antenna on the trunk, yada, yada. They have been hanging around the areas where kids congregate and we are watching them closely.
There is something just weird about that whole thing...it is against the law to operate a vehicle resembling law enforcement, but most of the time the excuse in court is that they "bought the car like that" at an auction. So now it becomes a game of catching them actually doing something else.  |
I knew a 19 yo kid who was a volunteer firefighter in Florida. Turns out he was starting a lot of the fires. he also got popped for pulling people over late at night for speeding. had dash lights, radios etc in his car. When they searched his house he had several stolen hand-helds and police uniforms. A bad incident waiting to happen.
And don't get me started on rent-a-cops!
