I am not a survivalist, but any thinking American today who dies not have at least 1/2 tank of gas in the vehicle, a couple weeks of dry rations and bottled water, a battery powered radio, flashlights, a firearm with ammo and training, and a couple of plans, is not planning properly.

I've been thinking along the same lines lately. I thought I'd lost my survivalist tendancies years ago but the last several years have brought back that itch. The only thing I don't have is a personal weapon. Trying to balance affordability with practicality. Hard to do on a budget.
