US Firm Boeing Sells IAF 6,000 Smart Bomb Kits
The US aerospace giant Boeing has won a contract to supply Israel’s air force with 6,000 smart bomb kits in a deal worth $229 million. The Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits turn free-fall, one-ton bombs launched from jet fighters into accurately guided “smart” weapons used in surgical strikes against targets such as missile launch sites or nuclear installations. Delivery is expected next year.
