Yup. The last thing we did when I was a re-enactor before taking the field was to hold an inspection and spring rammers. If the rammer didn't slide all the way down the barrel to the breech plug and make a disting ringing sound there was something in there and the weapon was cleared. Cartridge boxes were inspected for minie balls as well.
I used to do CW presentations to school groups back in the day until they banned all guns no matter what the purpose. I guess if your a superintendent you can waive the rules.
