I appreciate your PM. There are several differing accounts of Davy Crockett's end. I think some folks tend to gravitate to, and teach ideas that fit their own way of thinking. I thought that professor was a total un-American jackass.

Just sayin.

I guess I wanted to indirectly make the point that I wish folks weren't so quick to trash our legends. (DISCLAIMER...not saying Richard was doing any trashing...I am talking the general nature of disproving acts of legendary figures.) Wheter he was swinging Old Betsy like a club till the end, or drug out from under a bed begging for his life makes no true difference today. Those folks are the legends that made our country great. When our folklore is disproved, I dont think it serves much point, but it takes a little bit from us each time it happens.
