Congrats to NO for its first Super Bowl appearance. I'm amazed they made it though. Minnesota looked like the better team for pretty much the entire game. Even with 4 turnovers (at the time) and about 2 minutes to go, it felt like Brett and the Vikes were going to drive down the field and get the game-winning field goal. One "12 men in the huddle" call and an interception (turnover #5) later, overtime happened instead. In the end, NO comes through in the clutch, and Minnesota didn't.
And how cool was that for Garrett Hartley! He said that he'd spoken with his Dad before the game and had dreamed of hitting the game winning 40 yard field goal. His prediction was only off by 2 yards. Not bad for a 2nd year kicker (given the state of the kicking game in the NFL in general at this point...seems like nothing is automatic).
What are your thoughts on the overtime rule? Should each team get the ball at least once in overtime? Does a coin flip pretty much decide (a lot of the time) who wins the game?
Should be a dandy Super Bowl. Both teams would be deserving champs.
