Yes, it is. But, IMHO, little by little the options to reacting violently to these people are eroding from perhaps a lack of application of an alternative, or are being eroded by the actions of these "volunteers" against our civilized will to not over react.
Pope John-Paul II remarked that this was the most violent century human kind has ever lived. He called it a "culture of death". I think he was right. "Scary"? Absolutely. The precipice the civilized world could slip into is new, and we have no idea how to get out of it besides eliminating the "extremists". Somehow we have to act wiser. Careful, we are plowing new ground.
