We tripped up to East Palatka is see close friends this past week-end,, And while there, My bud & I drove to Apopka to visit Spikes Tactical (ST). Several weeks ago I ordered a lower and it was ready for pick-up.
For those that are unfamiliar with ST. It's a small company run by a young couple and their extended family. They have a reputation on AR15.com for above average products and quality. They are small potatoes in comparison to the likes of RRA & LMT, but I like that and they have nice T-shirts( c attached)
Here is what I have put together:
Upper: YHM, 14.5 inch 1/7 med contour, chrome lined, fluted barrel, w/5C2 brazed & pinned FH, carbine gas block and Specter length light wt free float forearm, all assembled at YHM.. plus,, BCG by Daniel Defense, MP tested,, YHM BUIS & riser, old Aimpoint Comp M (1st gen M68/CCO)
Lower: ST w/pro LPK installed, MagPul MOE stock, Eros grip, YHM sling anchor, KNS anti-rotate kit, ST-T2 heavy buffer,
buffer spring, castle nut, & milspec tube.
Additionally: MagPul ladders, misc forward sling anchor, Eros Husky vfg, Emdon USA, Gunfighter Sling (1 or 2 point).
I picked the magpul FDE color scheme for giggles. I am not headed to any high-speed anything. If I use the EBR for hunting it may help,, probably not... Looks good....
The case you see is the VooDoo Tactical 36 inch. It's fantastic, very well built, room for two(2) carbines and several pistols. Comes with pockets & straps a-plenty. Best of all, I purchased it from SportsmanGuide for 39 USD.. Yup,, the same SG you throw out each month. They don't advertise the brand, but someone on AR15 spotted the opportunity a couple months ago. On the VooDoo site it's 78.95 USD..
