If you strike out, come with me and visit the folks in Wyoming, they have more elk than any rancher should have to feed. The last one I shot was standing in the corral with the horses. I use a .357 Mag under her chin, she fell two feet from the John Deere backhoe. We hung her in the barn for the night, next day we had her cut up, wrapped in butcher paper, stamped "Angus Beef, a fine product of Wyoming".
My father get's an elk every year,...with the front of his truck.
Luckily, he has a son who fabricated a heavy steel bumper.
