Krauthammer-Noeconservative

FWIW,

Charles Krauthammer (CK) was born in 1950 in NYC. Primary, secondary, and undergrad years were in Canada. Graduated with honors from McGill Univ in poly sci, and econ. CK returned to the US to attend medical school @ Harvard. During his first year of medical school, CK sustained a C-spine fracture in a swimming pool diving mishap. Despite the injury, CK continued his studies, first year is reported to have been done from his hospital bed. CK graduated Harvard Medical School, with his class, to earn an MD.

From 1975-1978 CK was a resident in psychiatry @ Mass. General Hospital. Board certified in 1984 in psychiatry and neurology; six years after completion of his residency.

In 1978 CK left medicine to direct planning research in psychiatry for the Carter administration; a non-practicing MD. During the 1980 presidential campaign, CK was a speech writer for Dem. candidate Walter Mondale.

In 1981 CK began his journalistic career with The New Republic, as a writer and an editor. In 1983 CK began writing essays for []Time Magazine. In 1985 CK began writing a weekly column for the Washington Post.] CK won a Pulitzer Prize for commentary.

In 1985 CK is credited with coining and development of the phrase, "The Reagan Doctrine".

Info is from Wikipedia. I have always wondered about his C-spine injury; injury apparent watching him on the tube. I like what CK has to say. IMHO, he has great insight re: obama on many levels. I have to wonder what made him jump ship and join the Reagan team? For now CK has an informed, articulate voice for the conservative mind set. This has a long term feel to it; Carter and Mondale may have had the same idea.

My $.02.
