It appears at first glance, that the terrorist are trying to duplicate the episode in Spain where the attack, if it occurs, will have a decisive effect on the elections. I'm not sure if the attacks in Spain were previously announced as they have been here. Of course announcing an attack, causing precious resources to be expended in defense of such attack and creating an environment of anxiety is an act of terror in of itself, and it's hard to defend against something that in fact may not exist.
However if the attack does take place and it is devastating in its content, do you still believe the German people will respond differently than did the Spanish?
