What a great man. Back in '75 or '76, I spent about 2 hours with him backstage at a Dallas, TX performance. He sat on a couch with the rest of us in the dressing room area eating a KFC box lunch in his tux shirt, tie, coat, dress shoes....and boxer shorts.

Unlike many performers, he was as nice and decent in person as he was onstage.

Discreetly got on his knees and prayed before he went onstage.

A good conservative who loved our soldiers.

I'll never forget that evening.

They sure as hell rarely make them like that anymore.
