I went through the Q with Treber. I remember him giving me a dip when I was his RTO in SUT (they made all the CPT's RTO's for the 18X's who were PL's for the culmination exercise). IMHO he did a good job in the field back then and continued to do the same in OEF. Ironically, MSG Simmons was mine and Treber's TAC in student company during the Q Course. He saw us through the whole Q Course. Treber ended up having MSG Simmons as his TS in OEF and he gave his life to try and save him. Simmons was one of the good examples in SWC who didn't belittle the students and gave this SF Officer a great example of what a SF NCO was all about. I was in country when all of this happened and it is still hard to believe that they are both gone.
They are all missed.
