Air Farce is no different than the Army - keep 'em busy and mission focused (preferably in the field) or they'll keep you busy...with congressional inquiries, UCMJ, family issues, and the like.

And as far as NY being scared - most NYers I know don't scare easily and are pretty good to have around when it's time to go to the mattresses. The ones they interviewed for the MSM's stories must be transplants from somewhere else.
