The president wants us to think he's primarily interested in stabilizing the economy and getting America 'back on track.' He wants to show leadership.
Yet, what is the economic impact of his numerous efforts at self promotion? I don't just mean the cost to the federal government. What about the cost to local businesses that have to endure the disruptions of a president's visit? The president could not communicate his points in a podcast?
In less turbulent times, these issues might not be as pressing. Given the present circumstances, these trips show, again, the disconnect between what the president says and what he does.
