Hey All,
My name is Ken DeMaria, and I spent all my action time at 1st SFG(A). I served in 2nd Battalion from 1993 - 2005; my early years I was an 18E, mostly pre-137 it was "cutting edge" at the time and you couldn't even say "ALE". My former years I volunteered to be a 180A so I could avoid SWC and a PCS move, as well as extend my team time.
I did a couple of tours in Haiti on 141 and 140, then upon my return from WOBC in 1999 I served on 153 and 154 before being pulled over to the Special Activity Cell at BN S3, where I served a rotation in Afghanistan.
My last two years in S.F. were spent working at Detachment-West at Fort Lewis, WA.
I'm retired now, and own Pacific Northwest Consulting, LLC as an independent contractor conducting advanced skillset training for NEK ASG and Blackheart International, LLC. I also sell communications devices at trade shows and at military installations for Blackheart International LLC.
When I'm not on the road I spend the majority of my time assisting as an active member of Destiny Christian Center, in Puyallup, WA (
www.destinychristiancenter.com). I'm specifically focused on serving the "Young at Heart" group (over 55 years old) and enjoy participating in the Mens Ministry. I give an open invitation to anyone who is interested in why I'm so excited, during these times and issues we are always discussing in the news, to be a Christain who loves Jesus and why understanding the huge benefits of a life lived partnered with Jesus.
I've joined the Professional Soldiers community because I want to stay in touch and re-establish old relationships with all the great guys I've served with over the years, and to encourage those that have made the decision to pick up our rucksack and carry on our great tradition of "De Oppresso Liber".
