Here is the best replacement for Monkey Stomping I can come up with today but first, credit where credit is due, you have to hear the story on how I got it. Last August we got up on top of Steens Mountain (Orygun) on the east rim overlook at the head of the Kiger Gorge. This is where you can look down between your toes and see the Alvord Desert 6000 ft below. My buddies had just spotted 4 bighorn sheep rams starting to bed down to get out of the days heat. While we took turns watching them thru the spotting scope One of my friends pointed to an impossible hanging rock ledge way down there and told me "That's where Roger let the air out of one". He was talking about the trophy ram my other friend who was there had taken some years ago. I like that term, "Let the air out."
