I think there is more difference between a chimpanzee and a gorilla than between a chimpanzee and a human. There is only about a 3% difference between us and them.
They are warlike too I believe, any time some eco-lover says that animals don't kill for fun, tell them to look at chimps.

And yes the current theory is man and apes evolved from a common ancestor, man took one path and apes another.
There’s currently enough scientific evidence on the internet to allow those that can read the opportunity to make intelligent decisions on this subject. I’d start with the universities that have no affiliation or connection to any religion. (And watch out for the PhD’s with absolutely no training in archaeology, anthropology, genetics etc.

)
