From ADM Olsen's brief:
"The term, though, is evolving. To describe, it is combat foreign internal defense. Combat FID, a variation of a doctrinal term which has to do with training and assisting our enemies, but in this case we are eating, sleeping, working, training, and fighting alongside them."
First, I'm hoping he meant "training and assisting our allies", and second, I didn't realize there was a peacetime constraint on the definition of FID.
