I fully expect the Mexican nation to face severe challenges - which will hit in about 5 years. In addition to the issues of crime and violence, the decline in production from the Cantarell field is steep - such that exports (an important source of revenue for the Mexican government) may cease in that time.

As I recall, Mexico's government gets about 36% of its revenue from Cantarell, so the implications of decline are troubling.
