This is really very unfortunate. I have been raving about the gas-piston system to my cronies for months now, even though it is largely still underground to the masses. The advantages it offers over the standard direct impingment are huge.
Maybe, just maybe this will bolster the possibilty of utilizing FN's SCAR's, or Mapgul's Masada and Massoud line...I wouldn't cross my fingers though, since it seems this decision was made over a trivial breaking point.
