The Kaibab herd is "culled" every spring by vehicles when they migrate south from the Grand Staircase-Escalante (also known as the Clinton land-grab).
During the migration, the Utah wildlife guys are constantly out there on Hwy 89 with a big truck and a Bobcat picking up carcasses.
Our Fredonia driver hits about 1 per year (up on the plateau) on the job.
I whacked at least one (it might have been a two-fer--night-time, hard to tell) a couple of springs ago on the job.
I don't worry about the deer, I worry about the humans.
