new guy
Hello all,
I'm a prior Air Force guy that now contracts here in Iraq. Recently a buddy of mine who is tabbed made it out this way at a nearby FOB and he's been educating me on the SF way of life. On top of what he has told me I sometimes have the privilege of helping some 5th group ODA guys in regards to air transit all throughout theater here in northern Iraq. Since working with SF for the first time ever, it has opened my eyes up to a whole other world that is very attractive to me and what I want in life.
I'm at a pivot in life in regards to whether I should finish my degree and then go SF or leave now. Probably finish my degree first just in case I don't get selected for some reason out of my control (breaking something while at SFAS).
If any of you know a ODA commander (CPT.) who's first name starts with the letter “T " here in Northern Iraq-(Q-WEST), he's a very stand up guy from what I know of him and so is the rest of the ODA. They all have been giving me a lot of insight as to what I would need to do if I really wanted to become SF.
You can't beat first hand information from team guys.
