US Special Forces captured an al Qaeda operative linked to the assassination of Sheik Sattar. Special Forces also captured a senior al Qaeda leader in Tarmiyah known as "The Executioner." Al Qaeda in Iraq killed 14 civilians in an attack in the town of Muqdadiyah in Diyala province.
