I had a soldier tell me once that the barracks was his home and I couldn't tell him what he could or could not have in it. He quickly got his ass tore up. The next day the Post CSM stopped by; told me that the CG had gotten a complaint about the barracks and me...... I told the Post CSM that I was signed for that building; that I would make the rules for those that lived there; and that I could retire if that was a problem..... the Post CSM told me it wasn't a problem.... wise ass endured some extra training!

I have always said that the Army started going down hill when they did away with the open bay barracks..... platoons and team started becoming individuals from that time on.....
