I'd much rather have the MG42, than my latest purchase. I recently bought my first handgun. I'm still waiting on the state of Georgia to grant me limited permission to exercise my Second Amendment rights, but this will be my carry weapon when that occurs. In Georgia, we're not required to conceal, so I don't have to be as careful about printing as folks in other parts of the county... provided I mind my SA.
My knowledge of handguns is very limited, and PS.com was an invaluable source of information. I was torn between the USP Compact and the P2000, but I found an acceptable deal on a used USP Compact .40 which helped make the decision much easier for me and my wallet.
I'm going to take some basic handgun classes, and start saving my pennies in an effort to get some high-quality training. Heck, if I can get a bonus or two, I hear there's an excellent instructor out in Arizona.
