Snakeskin intro
I'm pushin 60 real hard. I served in Vietnam with B Co. 2 nd Battalion Airborne, 8th Cav/ 1st Cav Div in 1965 to 1966. (Some folks don't know that the 1st Brigade of the Cav was on jump status when the Cav went to Vietnam until Sept. 1966. My cherry jump was in Pleiku province Dec 65. I also served with B Co. 2/504 82nd Abn Div and later HHB 82nd Abn F/A. I used to think I had 133 parachute jumps, my VA medical records indicate 166 so its over 100.
I presently am a Tem Leader(Superviosry Readjustment Counseling Therapist) for 1 of 207 Vet Centers that are located nationwide, under the umbrella of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our focus is readjustment issues and PTSD treatment after combat.
Those of us working in the Vet Center program(Readjustment Counseling Service) are real proud of the work we are doing. Rougly 60% of the teams are veterans, lot of us are "Vietnam Combat" vets, and we don't want to see these veterans go through the BS that we had to endure. For me, at this time in my life, this is the icing on the cake, to be able to help in any way I can the returning veteran from OIF/OEF.
Proud to be here!
