I read some polling from the UK during the crisis that absolutely stunned me: only 7% of Brits polled thought that the UK should be "contemplating" military options and only 48% thought that military options should be considered "even as a last resort."
Of course, the Brits had to be realistic about their capabilities, but still...7% ?!
It will be very interesting to see if this, along with other recent events, prompts the Europeans to reexamine their military spending.
