There was lots to clean and polish!

Almost as good as digging a foxhole under a barracks or 20 laps in the low crawl pit.

I hate to tell you, but the 1943 splinter barracks are alive and in use on Ft Bragg.

The gang toilets are now walled off, but the gang urinals are still common, as is the single, six-headed shower stall.

Most of the 18Xs stayed in them during SOPC. Training Group was back in them for a while, and IIRC, some battalions of Training Group are still in them.

And they are conveniently located right off the end of the Pope AFB runway, in case you needed flight information.
