Now now! If you're going to pretend to an education, you've got to be a little more worldly. Yes, the US declared war against the Axis (two seperate declarations) following Pearl Harbor. However, WWII had been going on for a while before that. The US (overtly) joined the fight "fashionably late". Ask the Chinese or Koreans when the war with Japan started. I'm sure our European friends would give you an earlier start date for the war against Germany too.
