I agree with CoLawman - I don't think UBL expected us to go into Afghanistan like we did, I think he (and the Taliban) expected us to do the same thing Bill Clinton did (fire a few Tomahawks from the coast and go home). UBL has been "bled dry" more than we have, but he and his people are more willing to sacrifice that we are - face it, most Americans are fat, lazy, and more interested in American Idol than American International Policy.

I do agree that most of our politicians, on both sides, are focused on bullshit and trying to play spin-games on everything. That being said, I support the POTUS and am a convicted conservative Republican.

The Islamic radicals are smart enough to know how to play our political and public opinion system - that does not make them right. I just wish our politicians (and the American public) would take a longer-term view, regardless of the eternal battle between Republicans and Democrats, on the issue (I know, this is unrealistic).
