You might as well be hunting with sniper rifle at most deer hunting ranges. Modern pyrodex muzzle loaders, saboted bullets, and high quality glass on top is FAR from being primitive weapon season. I agree COL Moroney... run bambi RUN!!! haha

NOw, my pimped out compound bow with mechanical release and carbon fiber arrows is completely different. I am a real purist too. LOL
Sarcasm ?..............hey, where's the admin ??? Actually it is pretty funny that we do scope out muzzle loaders, but then again cross bows are usually sporting a high powered scope to !!

This morning I had one buck in my sights that appeared to be a 6x6 but he was smart enough to get behind some thickets and stay put till I couldn't see him anymore. This place has been hunted so much that I actually think they (Deer) have a personal calendar for deer season and know to get behind something so we cant take clear shots at them. Damn deer, their getting smarter and smarter each season.

As for purists, my neighbor actually uses an H&K 91 with Leopold 6.5-20x40....................now that's what we call "Puritism" up here.
