Kudo's...

Congrats to you and the kids Kyobanim!

2 years ago I was headed down the path of owning my own school. My kids BJJ instructor was having a tough time keeping things afloat (bad location), so a business partner and I were in the process of taking over. The location was poor, and my instructor didn't think it was a sound decision. My instructor requires a Brown belt or better to certify a student to teach BJJ (~8 yrs), my business partner would've been required for the BJJ program, whereas we would collaborate on the Muay Thai, and Self Defense program (a mix of kali, muay thai, jkd & jiu jitz) . Either one of us backing out pretty much put the deal in jeopardy. I continued teaching private Muay Thai lessons, and that was pretty much that.

I share in your enthusiasm to teach kids. We had a great time working with the kids. My kids school won The NAGA - Atlanta kids division school trophy, we had some studs that brought home golds, silvers and bronzes in no-gi as well as gi tournaments.

Anyhow, good luck. It's very risky and I wish you all the best.
