Am an 18D with 5/19 SFG, finishing the Q-Course in the next few months. As graduation approaches, I want to get all my ducks in a row so I can deploy already and do the job (3 years in training without a recycle...)

Am interested in deploying to Iraq or A-Stan with an Active Duty team as an augmentee, and am looking for info on the process. Any info regarding who to contact and what paperwork is needed would be appreciated.

Additionally, how does the order of merit list work for schools? Would like to try and get SOTIC or SFARTAEC before I deploy-- I know that slots are hard to come by, but its worth trying for considering the operational environment.

Spoke to my company's training NCO, and unfortunately didn't have any specific info regarding the above, and could't really talk when I called. Would wait until I get to my gaining unit, but as I said, I want to start finding out what is necessary before an opportunity is lost.
