About me: NON-SF 16 year NG/USAR vet. Have been enlisted/officer/now Warrant Officer in the MP Corps since 1990. On the civilian side, I'm a Deputy U.S. Marshal, assigned to our Special Operations Group (don't let the name fool you), presently in Baghdad on a 6 month TDY.
About you: I've been an SF wannabe from day one. However (excuse follows) I've never lived within 800 miles of an NG SF unit.
I have the utmost respect for US Army Special Forces. I work with a former 10th Grp/current 19th Gp guy, and have met/worked with several guys here in Iraq. Top notch all.
