Geeeeeez. Who had the contract? I have my original Beret. Still fits too and it was smallish wayyyyyyyyy back then. I never cut the lining or stiffener. Still fits too. Especially after a haircut.
There is the PROPER way to where it. For those of us that earned and wore it, then The Army decided to issue a beret to every troop. Look!! 80 t0 90% havn't a clue how to wear it. Nor do they deserve to wear one. They ddn't earn that right. I don't care what color it is!!!!!
OH, it was worn in alot of 'weather'. Now... the color is a bit faded, wayyyyy beyond when it was issued. Not to mention some 30 odd years. Thing is. It was never worn in the field. Except just after I earned it and played aggressor for the next Phase 1 Class comming in. There was never a reason to do so. Damn! That reminds me. I came across my old jungle boots a few weeks ago. I got them in `70. Have three applications of leather conditioner on them to this point. There is some cracking in the leather. Workin' on it.
Ack! Starting to look like a hijack. Welcome aboard Y'all...........
