A midly complicated process I do here can be seen in the background of the pic you reference. Check out the little brass washers in the image you reference.
These are .015 inch thick and made by me from "half hard" brass sheet shim stock.
I first had to make a punch and die set that could produce the interior bore accurate to +.0000" and -.0005" of either .2188", .2500" or .3750" depending on the blade pivot bushing diameter.
After punching out the center hole, the square washer blanks are stacked onto a mandrel (made here too) on the lathe and turned for whatever outside dimensions the model of folding knife needs. Each folder has two different sized washers, small one goes on the lock bar side.
