I have been in the USAR since just prior to Sept 11th. I graduated from college in 1995 and became a teacher and football coach. Something was always missing.
While in Iraq during OIF 1, I had the pleasure of talking with and working with members of the SF community. The bond they share, the team concept and intense desire to do things others cringe at facinates me. These "quiet professionals" encouraged me to look into the NGSF in my area. I got side tracked when my 2nd daughter was born shortly after my 14 months in Iraq. However, things have since settled down and I will be interviewing and taking an APFT on 18APR with the 19th SFG. I am ready and my family is ready for the challenges ahead.
Thank you to all who contribute to this forum. I have gained a wealth of insight and knowledge in the months I have been reading.
