My Introduction

Greetings.

I noticed there wasnt an actual strict guideline for posting your intro but I would like to give an impressive but not annoying one.

I was given a heads up on this site by Longwire and I would like to say thank you to him for that.

My name is Mike. I am 24 years old and currently serving with the 115 Maint Co in Iraq. My MOS is a 63H20 and I have been in the ARMY for 5 years.

My Military Career so far: I spent 3 years active duty, 1 year IRR, then got called up to come play in Iraq for a year. So I guess that makes it 5 years, at least thats what my LES says...haha My active duty days I spent working at NTC with the 557th Maint Co. I got out after my first 3 years to finish my degree, work and support my family. However that all came to a pause when I was called back to come to Iraq, where I am currently at.

About myself: I am happily married with 2 children. My home is in Lake Elsinore CA. My interest and loves in life are the art of film making, music, and of course being a great dad and husband. I play the drums but consider my self a percussionist. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, surfing and skateboarding. I also enjoy reading, writing, and advancing my mind as far as it can go. I love to laugh and make people laugh, its a beautiful thing.

My interest in SF: Yes I am very interested in SF. However it is not in an AIRSOFT, romantic, SOCOM Navy Seals way. I am not drawn to SF because of their cool toys or their "crazy lifestyle", but rather because I believe that is a place where I belong. I always felt while being a regular, that there is something wrong, or something missing in the ARMY. When I speak to SF people, most notably a LTC ZIMMERMAN, it just seems to me that the things I am seeking are in the SF community. The SF community to me, is a professional, tight knit, loving family. Yeah I said loving, because only a love for your fellow man, your brother, can explain their extraordinary relationships which I believe is part of why they CAN do what they do. They are also a different breed of man. These kinds of people are rare in the world. When I think about SF, its like a primative calling, it is calling me. You guys need good, talented, and special people. I feel I can bring that to the table.

However, I am humble enough to shut my mouth and listen to what you guys have to say to me. Perhaps this is for me or maybe in another lifetime it will be.

I hope my introduction offers a clear insight into who I am and what I am seeking. If there is anything you wish to know more about, please feel free to ask me.

Take care!

Mike
