I am truly disappointed in you. Do you people understand simple English? There is no need to rehash quotes already here or in the book. The kind of people that we are looking for in SF will find it, figure it out, or suck it up and drive on. You, not having completed anything in SF yet, do not need to be starting another boot thread, with the same boot questions already asked a dozen times.

1. This horse has been flogged to death. You may wear any boot you are issued by the CIF. You can look up the Army clothing bag list and see what is on it. We have explained this at least 100 times here. That currently includes the all-leather combat boot, the jungle boot, the ICB boot, and the Desert boot. No we are not going to start a list of boots. The regs already establish that. You will be issued all of the gear that you will need. You will have adequate time in Basic, AIT, Airborne, and SOPC to break them in. If you want extras, feel free to buy them.

2. The issued boot socks are the authorized socks. Can you get away with another issue appearing black or green sock? Maybe. Do you want to fail the shakedown and make the ride back to Bragg on Day One for failure to follow instructions? Sounds like it.

There are no magic Class X levitation boots. There are no HSLD socks that will create a force field around your feet. Keep your freaking money in your pocket, get up off your lazy ass, and walk the MILES in the issue gear, as directed in the prep book, while taking the best care you can of your feet. Upon arrival at SFAS, you will be required to compete on a level playing field, no Vasques, Raichles, Air Jordans, flying carpets, or whatever. You will be compared against your fellow candicates and yourself. If you have prepared properly, do your best, and meet the standard, you may be selected. Gucci gear whores are not the students we are looking for in SF. They will be found wanting.

I am tired of wasting precious hours of my life answering this question repeatedly and will personally ban the next person who asks this boot question again. There are currently 294 threads that mention boots. There are 68 that mention boots and feet. Some I started myself. Anything you have to ask is probably answered there. Anything you care to add will probably fit on one of those threads. Do we really need another boot thread asking the same questions? The info I have given you has been verified with the SFAS Chain of Command. Follow it.
