I did find that particular book as it was the second book to come up on amazon when you use the search words Son Tay Raid. From the following review from amazon it didn't seem to offer first hand accounts of the raid from the actual raiders.

Benjamin F. Schemmer has written a fascinating and in-depth study into one of the most sensational rescue missions ever accomplished in the history of warfare. Richly detailed and researched, included are photographs, maps, and appendixes with a multitude of statistics and operational facts.
I am sure his work is fairly accurate and does the subject justice but I am not sure if it is exactly what I am looking for. My apologies if that comes accross as either weak or lazy.
