Hopeful: Let me give an answer here since you are here now. I hear several wuestions of this type, Rather than ask advice from others, take the test and see what the results are. I was told I would never qualify for SCUBA training and I not only was accepted to and passed the training but was a UWO instructor in Panama and Thailand. It is IMO never a waste of time to try!! If you don't try you certainly won't quqlify, so if you try and are not accepted you will have lost nothing, OTOH you may be pleasantly surprised.
