You mentioned that while they do not advertise it, you can get the P2000 with the DA/SA trigger and a quite cleverly concealed decocker, for those that require it. The SA is one of the best I have ever felt on a non-match HK.
I agree, it feels very nice in your hand and points very well, especially after you install the correct backstrap for your hand size. It also has a nifty built-in lanyard loop.
As you noted, it will accept accessory lights, like the SureFire without requiring an adaptor. In fact, I have it on excellent authority that it will take the same DG switch as the SIG, requiring only a little extra effort to depress the mag release. It takes the same mags as the USP Compact.
It does need night sights, and is not available (yet) in .45 ACP.
It is entirely possible that some recent pictures of such a set-up may be in my possession.
