Last year, I sent about a dozen phone cards to soldiers at Walter Reed in lieu of normal Christmas presents for my extended family. The gesture was appreciated by all and will be repeated this year. CVS usually has the best deals, and the store manager will often give you an extra discount if you tell him where they're going.
