This morning Tim Russert was interviewing Sen, McCain and asked: "Why is it that we can take kids off of the block, give them a few month's training and send them into combat and they perform well?" I was just as surprised that McCain didn't come out with the obvious answer which is, er, a, experienced NCO.s and Officers?
