Open Source Daily INTSUM: Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005
Open Source Daily INTSUM: Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005: 14 page views in 24 hours. What's the point?
Here is a list of resources where information may be found on current security matters.
General Resources
- RFE/RL Newsline: daily summary stories on various issues of politics, economics, military and law enforcement matters in Russia, the former Soviet Union, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, and Central Asia and the Middle East (mainly Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan).
- ThreatsWatch: where Bill Roggio's Iraq blogging has mostly migrated. Outside of his news and analysis, the content is limited and not updated very quickly, but it has promise.
- The Counterterrorism Blog: Like many blogs, updated as the day progresses. The bloggers are former intelligence professionals.
- Spotlight on Military News and International Affairs, from the Canadian Forces College. The CFC provides links to news and opinion pieces on Canadian and international security matters.
- ISN Security Watch: Swiss-based, bit of a leftist bias. Summary news pieces rather than links.
- SWJ Daily News Links for Dec. 1, from the Small Wars Journal, whose founder is a PS.com member. They only provide links, and their sources are not nearly as diverse as mine, but they too have some promise.
- Kurzmeldungen Dezember 2005: from the publishers of Strategie & Technik, a German military journal. Auf deutsch.
Middle East and South & Central Asia
The Americas
- USSOUTHCOM Headline News (Microsoft Word format). News stories on the AOR put together by U.S. Southern Command. Not always updated, at least by the time I usually posted my summary.
