Squidly, you had hot lobster rolls? Never heard of that one. Usually, the roll (a top split hot dog bun) is toasted, but its filled with a bed of iceburg lettuce and, if you go to the right place, large, walnut-sized chunks of chilled claw and tail meat mixed with a dollop of mayonaise, topped with a sprinkle of cracked black pepper. The Red Barn restaurant a few miles outside the traffic loop in Augusta, ME serves one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had, and at a very reasonable price ($6 a shot; not the $12 to 15 you see at stands along Rt 1). Oh, and their seafood chowder is heaven on earth! Live lobster (softshell) was selling for $5.49/lb this summer, so for $5 a pop, you're getting a steal, AM!
