I read this a couple weeks ago. ( I'm also reading Ghost Wars so please don't judge all my reading selections on the basis of the Karpinski book alone ).

I picked it up at the library and it is a very quick read. However, for those of us who are civilians with no one who is AD nearby to help 'translate' some of the assertions that she makes in the book, it is difficult to determine where there is whining and where there are legitimate points made that contributed to the situation.

Nevertheless, I was still left wondering who is ultimately responsible for the welfare of detainees - MPs or MI - when they are going thru the information gathering process.
