Is hotter better?

The 10 inch subgun pushes the Le Mas Short Range AP 85 grain bullet with more energy and heavier bullet weights short barreled 5.56 platforms with conventional duty ammunition. Handguns with supported barrels can also provide a heavier bullet with more energy on target for CQB applications than short 5.56 weapons with conventional ammunition.

The Le Mas ammunition is designed to provide dedicated full diameter armor penetration with a bullet design that secondarily provides effective bullet fragmentations with reduced penetration when impacting living tissue.

With respect to each Le Mas Short Range Armor Piercing bullet design, increased energy levels provide greater operational capability with respect to both primary armor penetration and secondary living tissue bullet fragmentations.

I think what APLP is pointing out is that the BMT .45 ACP load in a 10.5" carbine (actually an SMG) is pushing a 77-90 gr. .45 projo at better than 2500 fps, versus the 10.5" barreled 62 gr. 5.56 load at virtually the same muzzle velocity (or the 77 gr. variant at less than 2500fps).

How much of a difference is there in "felt" recoil?

Specifically, how difficult are double taps with this ammo?

I understand that by design the round itself mitigates the need for a double tap....but I'm kind of into insurance.

The .45 recoil feels less then that of an everyday 9mm round.
